Angry Journalists. Who Knew?
The Committee of Concerned Journalists is all about hope, even though our own about page [2] says we are "worried about the future of the profession."
Sure, we're worried, but we're more Marvin Kalb [3] than Howard Beale [4].
But that's us. You might be as mad as hell about something and think that you do have to take it anymore.
Well, you don' t have to get up now and get out of your chairs [5], go to the window, open it and stick your head out. All you have to do is go to Angryjournalist.com [6], which has a very simple mission: to give journalists the platform to vent, anonymously.
AngryJournalist.com [7] is for the underpaid, overworked, frustrated, pissed off and ignored media professionals to publicly and anonymously vent their anger. Share your story. With any luck, you'll feel better.
A small sampling of what is on the minds of your colleagues -- perhaps even the person in the cubicle next to you:
I’m angry that I have superior writing and grammar skills to people in higher positions than me, yet no one seems to take me seriously.
Angry Journalist #197:
I’m angry because I travel an hour out of town, take two hours worth of photos, drive an hour back and only get one photo published.
Angry Journalist #331:
I am a happy. Today, I purchased a baseball bat and now have it next to my desk, conveniently within reach for the next person who smilingly reminds me that I didn’t get in to journalism for the money.
That won't be me.
